It's amazing that Tim Tebow had 3:16 yards on Sunday! I'm glad God finally has a team in the generally godless AFC! Judging from the talent over there, it's good God's back - especially if you're a Bronco Fan!If you're a Packer Fan, God's always been one of our BIGGEST fans. (Although there were times - like the 70s & 80s - when He busied himself with other earthly things = things, NOT teams! He was still with us!)
God loves The Packers. I mean, Vince Lombardi went to mass everyday; his teams bunked at SAINT Norbert College; he ate fish on Friday! We ALL eat fish on Friday 'round here! (Perch, plus the obligatory Cheese & Crackers with Cocktails, of course.)
One of Lombardi's most famous quotes: "Think of only 3 things: your God, your family and the Green Bay Packers - in that order." God loves that kind of pep talk from His Coach.
When Lombardi left for a godless, Washington DC team, things went to hell 'round here. I'm not sure why God abandoned us, but I think He was really ticked at Lombardi! Or, He just got bored with Green Bay (which is not too hard to do - especially if you're Creator of the Entire Universe. God didn't do His MOST creative work when creating little old Green Bay. It's NOT a bad place by any means, but He could have done something a little more creative with the weather).
Maybe, God just got bored with Green Bay winning ALL the time!
Anyway, after 20 years in Purgatory, God welcomed us back to The Kingdom. While we don't win EVERY game like we used to when Lombardi was running God's Team (damn those Kansas City Chiefs), we've had some good success. I think it all started when Reggie White converted to God's Team and, we were born again...
I'm glad God got involved with an AFC team; I'm happy for Tebow, too! We look forward to meeting them in the Superbowl this year!
However, if God really loved the Broncos, He would have sent Aaron.
God's Team; America's Team; Tebow's Team too, probably!

This is an AWESOME column. I plan to write about it on my blog, http://lombardiave.com ... stop on over and visit ... it has much about the Packers as well as a little bit of this and that ... thanks for sharing this!
Hysterical! Now I know why God has been forgetting about HIS team, Notre Dame - He's too busy with the Packers. Even His Son, Touchdown Jesus, has been sleeping at Notre Dame. :-)
Tebow too, I'm QUITE sure, loves The Packers!
